Reverend Joanne Hendrix
Rev. Joanne Hendrix lives a life of service dedicating over three decades in leadership roles to St. Anthony Willing Worker’s Church. This journey began early in life when she accepted Christ
as her personal Savior. Pastor Joanne worked tirelessly alongside of Rev. Mary Gibson-Founder,Pastor Sarah Hendrix-emeritus, and Rev. Earnestine Cokley all who were instrumental in her spiritual growth.
Rev. Joanne served as the interim Pastor of St. Anthony Church during the decline of Pastor Sarah Hendrix’s health. St. Anthony Willing Worker’s suffered the loss of a cornerstone in November 1999 with the sudden passing of Pastor Sarah Hendrix-emeritus.
Rev. Joanne being a true vessel of God never stopped serving; she picked up the leadership reins and continued the course. On Sunday, May7 th , 2000 Rev. Joanne Hendrix was installed as the third pastor of St. Anthony Willing Worker’s Church by The National Metropolitan Spiritual Churches, Inc.
Being fully led and guided by the spirit of God she journeyed on and continue the mission to serve “ALL” people. Pastor Joanne’s vision of taking ministry beyond the four walls led to many new programs, the church implemented feed the homeless during the holidays, Hug-A-Child youth program for at risk children in an underserved community, back to school drive giving out backpacks and supplies, and Barton Senior’s Ministry, visiting the seniors. Pastor Joanne Hendrix continued with the “I ain’t no punk” mentality and spearheaded the purchase of St. Anthony’s new church campus at 3906 W. Lexington St. Chicago, IL. 60624.
Pastor Joanne Hendrix was elected Vice President of The Metropolitan Spiritual Churches Inc. 2010-2014, and in 2018 she was elected as President. She has also served as the President of the
Youth Dept. and Financial board.
Pastor Joanne loves to preach God’s word. She is known for her practical and dynamic preaching style. She teaches us to repent and apply the truths of scripture in our everyday lives. She is the proud mother of three children who work alongside her in ministry. Be on the lookout her best is yet to come!
